Established by the Ninth Amendment to the Constitution in 1987, the Constitutional Court of Korea has continuously strived to ensure that democracy and the rule of law take root, and to guarantee the fundamental rights of the people.

Building on these efforts, our Court will faithfully discharge the duties entrusted by the Constitution. Through fair and transparent judicial proceedings, we will listen to the voices of the people who seek justice under the Constitution, spare no effort to reach a point where different constitutional values coexist in harmony.

All members of the Constitutional Court are making every effort to give the sovereign people confidence that the Court renders decisions that can be trusted and accepted by all, and that share the spirit of the Constitution with the people.

If our efforts are met with strong interest and warm encouragement from the people, the Constitution–the nation’s fundamental norm–will be firmly established as a living and breathing principle in every corner of our society.
